1.0 Purpose
The purpose of ICDS-P080 is to establish a policy and rates for allocating resources for training support.
2.0 Overview
This document defines the policy and guidelines for training support and instructional allocations including summer camps, workshops, etc. provided by the Institute of Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) systems and staff.
Training support services include the following:
- Storage
- Compute (Instructional Allocations)
- Software and/or Application Development
- Training
- Advanced Support
- Engineering, Operations, RISE support
3.0 Resource Requests
Any PI may request educational and training support services for each course or training event. The PI must submit a request via the ICDS website , at least 4 weeks prior to the availability of the resource(s). Requests received with less lead time will be processed on a “best effort” basis and applications may not be available for use at the desired start date.
NOTE: Additional lead time may be needed for software installations not currently in the ICDS Software Stack.
NOTE: If engineering, operations, or RISE support is required, additional lead time may also be needed.
NOTE: A Service Level Agreement may need to be developed for resource requests. Please see SLA policy.
3.1 Account Requests
Refer to policy “ICDS-P030 Access Control.”
3.2 Requesting Support
Students seeking support for the use of academic software should contact their instructor. Instructors should provide usage instructions and help with the software to the students in their class. Any problems or issues with the installed software (i.e. error message, connectivity, account issues, etc.) can be reported to the Client Support Help Desk.
3.3 Training Data Retention
If active group storage is purchased for training usage, access to data will be terminated on the SLA expiration date and deleted within 30 days unless an SLA is purchased to retain it.
