ICDS mourns passing of former Director Jenni Evans

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Dr. Jenni L. Evans, a distinguished meteorologist and esteemed professor in the Penn State College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of groundbreaking research and dedicated service to the scientific community. Evans was the director of the Penn State Institute for Computational and Data Sciences (ICDS) and a professor in the Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science. Her contributions to the field of meteorology — particularly in the areas of tropical cyclones, climate change and computational sciences — have had a profound impact on both academia and practical applications.
