Witold "Witek" Krajewski, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Iowa, is presenting the Fall 2026 Donald RF Harleman Honorary Lecture in Water Resources Engineering on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in 301 ECoRE. Krajewski will present "How Well Can We Forecast Streamflow in Real Time?" This is the only Water Resources honorary lecture the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Penn State organizes. Witek has worked in flood forecasting and modeling for decades. He directed the Iowa Flood Center for many years. He is among the few who have worked in every technical/engineering aspect of the flood forecasting process: deploying water sensors and weather radars, assimilating observations, building better models, and communicating/visualizing flood information.
